“Since digital cameras came out I was one of the first photographers to go all in. I’d shot film for years and was ready for the digital revolution. My first Canon 5d was amazing. As I shot I discovered that a lot of the settings were designed for different types of photographers. Landscape, Nature, Sports, Adventure. But my specialty at the time was fashion. I learned quickly that my camera was not set up for that. Weddings were on my specialty list as well, so after attending WPPI for 10 years, I learned to visit my friends at the Canon booth. That’s were I learned to make changes in my menus that helped me shoot better. I discovered lots of simple settings to save battery life, help give me better exposures and made my life as a photographer much easier. The tech guys at Canon were a big help. It’s helpful to watch YouTube, but I was not a nature photographer, so it took me a while to get my camera set up to shoot my style of photography.”
