Graceland - Memphis Tennessee - Commercial Photographer - Living in Memphis has its perks. We have great food, great music, and Graceland. Last fall I got a call from Tailfins and Chrome Magazine to shoot Elvis classic pink Cadillac at the Graceland Museum. I was hoping to shoot his car right on the driveway at the mansion, but found out that the only time this pink Cadillac has ever been put on the lawn was for President Bush about 10 years ago, and most likely will never be moved there again. In Memphis, we all took Elvis for granted, so it's really no big deal to go to Graceland for my crew, but millions of other people disagree, going to Graceland to is a big deal. Any way, here is one of the shots we took for the Magazine. If it looks a little brighter and sharper than you've seen other shots of this car, its because we rigged a 20 x 20 silk and kicked in 3 soft box flash umbrellas behind that to give the photo a perfect reflection. Next my assistant crawled under the car and strategically placed a flash with a hot pink gel under the back of the car to give a little extra fill of pink light under the car. The magazine used several shots, the cover shot was very similar to this one, but this is my fav.
