Seaside Florida - Southern Weddings
Seaside Florida -Southern Bride Editorial Photo Shoot - Memphis Tennessee Photographer. Here are some photos from my recent workshop with Southern Bride Magazine. For the magazine shoot in Seaside I had the challenge of sharing my vision for the overall look of the shoot, using soft pastel color backgrounds when possible, keeping the airy beach look for the shoot. We had 6 photographers on the set, so I had to light each scene to keep the continuity for the photo spread. I also enrolled the help of professional photographer Joe DeScoise, whose portfolio includes Time Magazine, Conde Naste, Southern Living and more. Together we coached the photo teams and shot for the magazine.
I also shot a behind the scenes HD documentary with help from my second photographer, Tracy Welch. We shot on the Canon 5d HDDSLR system, using cinematography techniques to create the compelling film, which starts off on scenes with one of our beautiful models on the beach holding a "message in a bottle" as she looks out to sea to find her lost lover. Be sure to watch the short film on our fashion reel page. {Photos by Michael Allen Photography}

For this photo, Tracy had the vision to shoot the model on the ladder in the Modica market, later on we found out that this is a Seaside tradition for brides that get married in Seaside {Photos by Michael Allen Photography}

Southern Bride Magazine - Memphis Professional Wedding Photographers
Here's a few photos from my recent shoot & "photographers dream workshop" I did in Seaside for Southern Bride Magazine. As the editorial fashion photographer for Southern Bride, I get a chance to shoot dozens of models in lots of romantic destinations. It is quite an honor to get to work in this capacity, and it lends to my wedding photography assignments for real weddings. Lifestyle editorial photography has similarities to real weddings, but the editorial style uses more light modifiers and I'm allowed much more time to set up each scene, where in real weddings, you pretty much have to use available light or quick flash setups.
